Department Profile

The Department of Business Administration has been in existence since the inception of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Constituent College (Presently Government Arts and Science College), Kanyakumari in 2012. The Department of Business Administration owes its seamless functioning and continued success to the unwavering dedication and outstanding expertise of its assistant professors, namely Dr. Amutha G. Williams, Dr. T. Babu Rajendra Prasad, Dr. D. Jenisha, Mr. A. Rathnakumar & Dr. A. R. Sindhu who have been consistently demonstrating their commitment to excellence. VISION: “To strive to mould the budding administrators to blossom as responsible administrators” MISSION: “To impart professional management skills to the rural aspirants of Business Administration and to embed the concept of social responsibility” With its humble genesis with only 19 students, the department has grown over the years tremendously. Many students are fortunate to pursue M.B.A. in Anna University Regional Centres, Monomaniam Sundaranar University, and other reputed colleges. The department has also produced University rank. M. R. Anbarashi (2013 – 2016 Batch) has brought laurels to the department by securing 17th rank in the University. Quite a number of students are employed in public sector and in reputed private limited companies and MNCs.

One of the first batch students has been appointed as Sub-Inspector of Police through direct recruitment. The erstwhile MSUBAAC (Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Business Administration Association of Cape Comorin) & the erstwhile MSUBAAAC (Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Business Administration Alumni Association of Cape Comorin) has been active in organizing seminars and other events. The department, known for being a pioneer in the college has hosted a series of events, including district-level seminars, national webinars, and alumni amalgamation meet the details of which have been annexed. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the department has organized seven one-day district-level seminars – FENDSEM (Future Executives’ Nurture & Development Seminar), in which B.B.A students from various colleges across Kanyakumari district have actively participated. The department has showcased the students' creativity by releasing a souvenir during the seminar, which highlights their exceptional writing skills. Students from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University Colleges have given their patronage for a few seminars by their valuable participation. Similarly the students from our department also participate in various events in other colleges and has got a number of prizes.
